Scott builds a sled track every Winter from the top of our neighbor's driveway to the sidewalk in our front yard. (our neighbor lives above us on a steep hill so the track goes through both our yards) The girls spend hours outside sledding and playing in the snow. All the neighborhood kids come over too and it's so much fun. It melts a few times but Scott just rebuilds it. What a great dad!

Girls Basketball Rocks

Sam's basketball season ended with an ice cream social and awards ceremony. The girls ate, played, and got their faces painted before going to the varsity girls' basketball game. It was a great season and she can't wait to play again next year. Go Northview Wildcats!

Getting Crazy at Crazy Bounce

Wow! The kids sure had an awesome time at Crazy Bounce in Holland for their cousin Brian's 4th birthday. (10/10/08) There were slides, games, and obstacle courses. We can't wait to go back again!

Carly's School Walkathon

Carly's school held it's annual walkathon Fri. 10/3/08. Half the students walk in the morning and the other half walk in the afternoon on the high school track. It's the only fundraiser and the kids raised over $10,000! Carly had so much fun alternating between running and walking while the High School Musical 2 soundtrack blasted through the stadium speakers. Go Carly Go!

Cookout With MeMe & Grandpa Steve

On Sat. 9/27/08 my family had a cookout in honor of Grandpa Steve. My mom (MeMe), my step-dad (Grandpa Steve), my siblings (Tony, Tina, and Joey), their spouses, and 12/14 grandkids were there. We all got together for some fun, food, and an awesome campfire before Steve starts chemo and radiation to fight cancer. It was a great family day in support of an amazing person!

Our Future SuperModel

Sam went to her friend Sydney's 8th birthday party at Club Libby Lu in Younkers at the Rivertown Mall. 6 girls got makeovers including a fancy hairdo, makeup, and a manicure. She got home at 8:30 PM and we could hardly believe it -- she looked like a glamazon supermodel. The pictures do not even do her justice because it was so late at night and dark. Scott was ready to get out the shotgun but then we noticed something adorable. Sam can get all dolled up but she's still momma's girl. She had orange frosting all over her face from the cupcakes. It was priceless.

Labor Day Weekend at Arnold Lake

We rented a cottage on Arnold Lake near Harrison for a long Labor Day weekend with the Schwalm family. (Scott's mom's family) Everyone was there except for party pooper Grandpa Bud, who went fishing instead. Even Aunt Judy, who had to work, came for a day. The cottage had 7 bedrooms, 4 baths, and was 5500 square feet. Plenty big for 13 adults and 6 kids. Scott, the kids, and I went up a day early to check the place out and relax before the rest of the crew arrived. Once everyone got there, we ate, drank, swam, skied, and tubed until we could barely move. Peyton was a little crabby (as seen in the picture of all the kids) but she ended up being really sick all week afterwards with the flu. Luckily no one else got it. The weekend was a lot of fun and a great end to an awesome Summer!

4th of July 2008

We had an awesome 4th of July weekend in Ludington with Scott's parents and cousins. We went swimming, boating, skiing, tubing, played, and ate way too much as usual. Ah - it's a rough life!

Summer Is Here (Almost)

Now that Summer is almost here, we bought a ski boat. Scott has been wanting one for years. It's kind of his birthday, Father's Day, Christmas present all rolled into one. So when we're not up north or hanging out with family, we take the boat to different lakes to ski and tube. The kids absolutely love it! All we need is some beautiful Michigan Summer weather to warm up the lakes.

Let It Snow!

January has brought lots of snow and we love it! Scott builds a sled run from the top of our back neighbor's yard all the way to our front yard. All the neighborhood kids have a blast! So do Scott and Di too who get a few runs in. Even Peyton is getting in on the sledding action. Scott just kind of forced her down on a sled and the 1st thing she did at the bottom was tell us more. After going about 20 times in a row we figured we'd created a monster. The girls have been having so much fun sledding, building snowmen, and shoveling. It's a Winter wonderland around here!
